Find Your Balance: The Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP) in Los Angeles

A Foundation for Healing Through Nervous System Regulation

True healing begins when the body feels safe. In our modern world, many of us exist in a chronic state of defense—the “fight-or-flight” or “freeze” response—due to stress, trauma, or neurodivergence. This state of dysregulation can be a major barrier to overcoming chronic pain, anxiety, and other persistent symptoms.

At Body and Mind Pain Center, Dr. Zev Nevo offers the Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP), a powerful, therapist-led listening therapy designed to gently guide your nervous system back to a state of safety, balance, and resilience. This innovative protocol creates the fundamental internal environment necessary for both mental and physical restoration.

Is Your Nervous System in a Defensive State?

When your autonomic nervous system is chronically dysregulated, you may notice difficulties with:

  • Sleep quality and insomnia
  • Mental clarity and concentration
  • Emotional regulation and mood
  • Digestion and physical comfort (e.g., headaches)
  • Feeling socially connected and engaged
  • A persistent sense of anxiety or being “on edge”

How RRP Works: The Science of Sound and Safety

The Rest and Restore Protocol is a passive listening experience. You simply relax with headphones as specially engineered music, enhanced with a patent-pending technology called Sonocea™, does the work.

Sonocea™ uses precisely calibrated sound acoustics to sync with and influence your body’s innate biological rhythms. This process, known as entrainment, sends powerful, non-verbal cues of safety directly to your nervous system.

As you listen, the music helps to:

  • Regulate Breathing and Heart Rate: Gently guiding your body out of a state of high alert.
  • Promote a Parasympathetic State: Shifting you from “fight-or-flight” into the “rest and digest” mode, where healing and restoration occur.
  • Build Nervous System Resilience: Training your body to more easily respond to and move past stressful situations instead of getting “stuck” in them.

The RRP Listening Journey: A Progressive Path to Balance

Your journey with the Rest and Restore Protocol is carefully structured to gently guide your nervous system toward regulation. The protocol is designed to promote deep relaxation, recovery, balance in the body and mind, and connection to self, cultivating interoception and self-regulation. It unfolds through several progressive levels using the “Spring’s Prelude” musical suite:

  • RRP Introduction Track: The journey begins with an introductory track that presents the core musical theme without the embedded acoustic parameters. The objective is for you to become familiar with the theme, reduce any feelings of uncertainty, and allow us to assess your sensitivity before proceeding to the full experience.
  • RRP Levels 1, 2, and 3: Following the introduction, you will progress through three distinct levels. In each level, the acoustic parameters that influence your body’s biological rhythms increase in complexity. This progressive approach ensures your nervous system can adapt comfortably, building resilience and deepening the state of relaxation and restoration over time.
